What better reason is there to encourage people to get together than food in Dallas, TX? The Taste of Dallas has been doing exactly that — bringing together families, friends, and a community of food-lovers all over the region for 30 years. This year, it continues to bring in new ideas on the table and on its menu.
The Main Event
The Taste of Dallas is a three-day culinary event that hosts hundreds of exhibitors, chefs, restaurants, and other food-related activities. They have food sampling, product launches and promotions, cooking demonstrations, and even mini concerts.
Live Fire
This attraction is a new highlight for 2017. It will feature any sizzling dish the whole Dallas region has to offer from burgers, barbeque, and whatever that requires a grill over hot embers. The smoky aroma that would fill the Live Fire area should be enough to lure you into this new attraction. Food tasting is probably what will make you stay. And the cooking demos by the grilling pros will probably make you return throughout the festival.
Restaurant Island
The world will be on your plate as you venture into the Restaurant Island. This attraction will showcase 45 booths this year covering cuisines from Asia to America. Food tastings are priced from 2$ to 5$ so everyone can taste it all and satisfy their taste buds.
Taste Marketplace
The Taste Marketplace is an adventure down the aisle of artisans presenting new products or launching their new flavors. Find handmade products like jams, baked pastries, food preserves, dips, sauces and more. You may also stumble upon sales on kitchen implements, food demos, and food sampling by contemporary vendors and specialty artisans.
Family Fun Zone
When the Taste of Dallas said they would cater to everyone, they meant to include even the kids. Children will likely love the food everywhere too but in case they get more distracted about playing instead, the Family Fun Zone is where they can go. Remember that all children aging 10 years and below are accommodated to the Taste of Dallas for free.
At the indoor, air-conditioned Family Fun Zone, children may engage into fun activities such as:
- Arts and Crafts
- Character Meet and Greets
- Interactive Games
- Indoor play on inflatables
- Rock Climbing Wall
- Soccer Simulator
There is also a Toddler Area for younger kids and a Kids Stage showcasing live performances on magic and exhibitions.
The Foodie Experience
The Taste of Dallas is already grand in itself but The Foodie Experience is probably the one thing to watch out for. This is the ticketed tasting experience of the food festival that features only the premiere menu of over 40 chefs and restaurants. Dining experience is elevated by bringing in demos into hands-on interaction with the pros. Exquisite wine and craft beer also flows to pair up with the great menu as live music and entertainment flood the dining area.
This year, the Taste of Dallas will be held from June 9 to 11, 2017. The main events will be held as usual at the Fair Park-3600 Grand Ave, Dallas, TX 75210. The festival will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00am to 7:00pm. On the other hand, the Foodie Experience will be at Gilley’s Dallas on June 9, Friday, from 7:00pm to 10:30pm.
